Places of Interest

There are so many places to visit in Paris! Below is a map of interesting places to see within walking distance from the conference.

For those attending the "chill event" dinner on thursday, note that the organizers propose a tour of Latin Quarter between the conference and the restaurant that will pass through most of these places. Of course, you are free to follow the proposed itinerary by yourself at any time!

  1. Luxembourg garden
    Parisians' favorite garden and a nice place to relax between sessions!
  2. Luxembourg Palace
    A palace built by Marie de Medici, queen of France, in the 17th century and home of the french senate, one of the two chambers forming the French parliament
  3. Medici Fountain
    This beautiful fountain was built in 1630 for Marie de Medici, widow of king Henri IV.
  4. Panthéon
    Where most famous personalities of French history are buried
  5. Sorbonne
    The famous university dating back to the middle-ages
  6. Museum of the Middle-Age (Musée de Cluny)
    A beautiful museum, featuring the famous "lady with the unicorn" tapestry, and an exhibit of remainings found during the rehabilitation of Notre-Dame cathedral
  7. Rue de la Huchette
    A lively street with plenty of restaurants at the heart of the Latin Quarter
  8. Saint-Michel Fountain
    An emblematic place of the Latin Quarter.
  9. Notre-Dame of Paris Cathedral
    A must! After the fire of 2019, the Cathedral has been entirely refurbished and is now open (free of charge!) to the public.
  10. Sainte Chapelle (holy chapel)
    A midle-age church with breath-taking stained-glass windows
